Investor Grievances and Guidance Division
SEBI is now empowered to impose penalty of Rs. one lakh for each day or Rs. one crore, whichever is less, on companies under section 15 C of the SEBI Act, as amended by the SEBI (Amendment) Act, 2002 for their failure to redress investor grievances after having been called upon to do so.
Accordingly, SEBI has issued directions to the following companies to redress pending investor grievances.
