Orders in respect of M/s. Alka Securities Ltd. and others

Shri Prashant Saran, Whole Time Member, SEBI, has passed two orders both dated December 30, 2010 in the matter of Alka Securities Ltd. directing as under :

1. Prohibiting Alka M Pandey, Ravi Pandey, Mahesh Natvarlal Kothari, Anjuben Kothari, Brijesh Kothari, Dimple Kothari and Mahendra Pandey from buying, selling or otherwise dealing in securities, directly or indirectly, for a period of one year. 
    
2. Prohibiting Mahesh Kothari Shares & Stock Brokers Private Limited from buying, selling or otherwise dealing in securities in their proprietary accounts, directly or indirectly, for a period of one year. Further, Mahesh Kothari Shares & Stock Brokers Private Limited, against whom an enquiry is pending under the SEBI (Intermediaries) Regulations, 2008, shall not take fresh clients till the completion of enquiry and passing of final orders thereon. 
    
3. Restraining Alka Securities Limited from accessing the securities market and prohibiting them from buying, selling or otherwise dealing in securities, in their proprietary accounts, directly or indirectly, for a period of one year. Further, Alka Securities Limited, against whom an enquiry is pending under the SEBI (Intermediaries) Regulations, 2008, shall not take fresh clients till the completion of enquiry and passing of final orders thereon.

The orders have come into effect immediately.
