Order against Mahesh Kumar P. Gandhi in the matter of Nissan Copper Limited
Shri M.S.Sahoo, Whole Time Member, SEBI has passed an order dated October 28, 2009 restraining Mahesh Kumar P. Gandhi from buying, selling or dealing in securities in any manner whatsoever, directly or indirectly, for a period of five years from the date of the order. The order also directs impounding of profits/gains of Rs.1,33,99,835.25 (Rupees one crore thirty three lakh ninety nine thousand eight hundred thirty five paise twenty five only) made by Mahesh Kumar P.Gandhi.
It may be mentioned that SEBI vide order dated January 17, 2007, had directed BSE and NSE to withhold the profits made by Mahesh Kumar P. Gandhi and others from their alleged irregular trades executed in the shares of Nissan Copper Limited on December 29, 2006 and January 2, 2007 in a separate escrow account.
